dpr16 Posted October 16, 2015 Report Posted October 16, 2015 I'm new to this group and just got a new license, but have been using GMRS since the 80's up North with REACT. When I moved to SC, I let my license from NY expire and then applied for another and never really used it so that one expired too. I am now getting back in to it and I have found a couple of repeaters here near me in central SC, and they aren't really active, but one of them is listed on here as requiring permission for use. I e-mailed the contact person a few days ago and have heard nothing back either way. Should I get on the repeater, give my call sign and just ask, or is there a "protocol" to follow? Quote
gdavis316 Posted October 16, 2015 Report Posted October 16, 2015 FCC rules require permission from the owner of the repeater prior to using it. He doesn't check his email very of, just give it some time. Quote
