As you will note, above, the "offset" for repeaters, starting in Channel 23, is the 5 MHz difference between the RX and TX Frequencies.

In Channels 23 through 30, you should not be able to make changes for the Frequencies; as they are pre-established for GMRS.

In the DIY Channels, starting in Channel 31; again, the 5 MHz difference between the RX and TX Frequencies should already be entered.

Honestly, this seems to be the biggest difference between the day-to-day 440 use of Ham vs. GMRS radios:

Pre-Fixed channel settings with limited flexibility vs. "whatever" menus :)

I fell into the same "trap" and frustration on my first attempt to program a GMRS HT - if you want to change parameters, you need to select a DIY channel whereas on Ham HTs: Every memory slot is DIY :)
