WSDA973 Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 Just got my Baofeng GM-15 pro this past Sunday. Really like the little radio and it just impressed me by being able to hit a repeater in Park Ridge Illinois from the Rogers park area of Chicago, basically from the Starbucks in the Loyola area on Sheridan road. My only issue is the software... using the radioddity gm-30 software to program it and it does not let you program the diy channels for additional GMRS repeaters.... I know they all use the same frequencies just different tones, but still I would like to be able to have additional repeaters that are outside my home base area for when I am out and about. Otherwise I really like this little Baofeng, and the green color is awesome. makes it easier to remember which call sign to use since my Motorola for ham is a black radio, and set up for ham frequencies, so the different size and especially color is ideal. Also it is a cute little radio. Quote
WSAK388 Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 I didn’t have this problem. Using the Radioddity software I was able to reprogram DIY 1, 2, and 3 to three local repeaters, just changed the frequencies, put in tones, and edited the channel names. Is the software not allowing you to change the DIY channel frequencies? Quote
WSDA973 Posted May 29 Author Report Posted May 29 no, I was using the original version. so the later cps versions do not require you to install the radioddity firmware since it is the baofeng not the radioddity version radio? Quote
WRYS709 Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 Correct you can use v2.02 with your firmware What version firmware do you have? Quote
WSDA973 Posted May 30 Author Report Posted May 30 That I'm not sure. Just got the radio on Sunday Quote
