Can anyone tell me if they have had any experience with these radios and if the experience was good or bad. I have seen them on Amazon and it says the item is often returned!!!
I am still shopping around and asking questions.
I want to thank everyone in advance for any help they can provide. I have had nothing but positive advice from everyone on here except one person. I won’t mention their name but they seem to think they know everything about everything. If the person I am talking about is reading this you know who you are!!!

I think it is a good radio. I bought one for my son-in-law and he has no problems with it. As the Queen of Everything GMRS, stated, the radio is fiddly. There is a lot going on with it and it isn't as easy to navigate in, menu wise, as some other GMRS radios. My s-i-l also has a KG-935G that is his goto radio. I have the HAM KG-UV9PX version and have never had any issues with it. Computer programming is less hassle than using the radio keyboard on both. I have a KG-935G+ I use as my goto. I have programmed a lot of the stuff that comes on the UV9GX/PX into the 935G+.

It works like any other radio.  I have one and for the price I can buy 5 water proof radios. To me it’s not worth the price tag. But then again I use many radios every day so I’m biased to radios that work well for a good price.  Mine was Given to me to try out.  If I had to put a “worth” price tag on it I’d say it’s worth $30 bucks.

I'll echo a lot of what @WRHS218 has said if not all. I also have the ham version of this (KG-UV9PX) and it's a decent radio. I have had no issues with so far. I use it often for amateur radio.  It is a bit more to navigate. For GMRS though I also prefer the KG-935G Plus hands down. It's just a good radio. I would add it's slightly easier to see the 935 screen outdoors than the UV9GX. Something to consider if you plan to use your radios outdoors.

additional opinion that no one asked for... I like simple for my GMRS use. I also have the KG-S88G and I was looking at the new KG-S65G, I was thinking this would be a good radio for handing to the wife or other non radio geek types. I just wish they had made it IP67 like the other S series radios.

There is nothing 'wrong' with this radio, but it is very fiddly and has a lot of options/knobs/dials/bells, and whistles.. If you like that stuff, you'll love this radio.

My experience has been fine, but I prefer a less complex radio.

Thank you very much for your input

I've had this radio for about six months and have had no issues with it.  It's a bit expensive as HT's go, but the reception and build quality is excellent. I found that most of the added frequencies programmed into the radio as to the area I live in had no real use. So I downloaded and saved the original .img file using CHIRP to my computer and programmed the radio to my liking.

I have one. It's a good radio.  But I like the Q10G/H better.  The Q's functions are easier for me to use,  also the many display text color choice,  I can choose one that is easier for my color blindness to see.  The Q is also water proof and the dual PTT on the Q is easier to use than the 9GX.

I do like the duel PTT as well. The one thing I wish the Q10H/G had is an indicator if it was the top or bottom channel that received last. Helps when responding to a call when you weren’t looking at the screen.

I didn't realize the Q10's don't have that function. I rely on that with my 935G+ when monitoring two frequencies.

Same here. Other than that it’s a good radio, IP67, quad band, feels rugged.
Edit- just to be sure I didn’t have something off I checked the manual and they show it on there display page (20) but no where else, and it’s not on the screen… at least not on mine. Perhaps I’ll reach out to “buy two way radios” as to why it’s not there but it’s in the manual. I’ll let you know if I hear anything.

Sorry,  I should have proof read my response.    I meant the Q10s have dual PTTs and option to set the upper one dedicated to the upper freq displayed and the bottom ptt for the bottom freq displayed.    Where as the 9Gx,  the main PTT is always the main freq selected and the tiny optional button is always for the 2ndary freq and that is confusing to me sometimes.

Well apparently it's suppose to but mine does not. I'm trying to find a fix with the people at Buy Two Way Radios. I tried doing a factory reset and while it's reseting most everything it's not everything...  Apologies for inadvertently highjacking the thread.
