WSFV286 Posted December 5 Report Posted December 5 I do a lot of outdoors work year round here in Michigan. I help out teaching kids to fish and boat safely, farm work, backwoods, camping, etc. So a lot of outdoors, in rain, snow dirt and dust, generally working with 2-4 other folks. I have been considering water resistant/proof HT's, and the Baofeng uv-9g seems to have good reviews with a IP67 rating. Does anyone have any thoughts on this HT? I am also open to suggestions, whatever it is though I need to order at least 3. Quote
JBRPong Posted December 5 Report Posted December 5 I have the GT-3WP which is the ham version. It's a good radio for the price. Had it out in the rain several times. My coworker has UV-9Gs and he likes them as well. WSFV286 1 Quote
WRHS218 Posted December 6 Report Posted December 6 I purchased a UV9G for a neighbor's birthday. We used our radios when we lose power. He is happy with it. We have used the radio in the snow and rain and it has held up well. Another friend just bought two of them to use for his family. He is happy with them. I think they are good radios for the price. I don't personally own one. I have several Wouxuns. WSFV286 1 Quote
AndyOnTheRadio Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 I have the 9G and it’s been fantastic. It’s not the most power option, but with 771 G antenna it’s a great radio. WSFV286 1 Quote
