Michiana GMRS Network – Club Rules
1. Licensing & Legal Use

All members must hold a valid GMRS license and follow FCC Part 95 rules at all times.

No unlicensed transmissions on club-affiliated repeaters or frequencies.
2. Respect & Conduct
-
Treat all operators with courtesy and respect—on the air, online, and in person.

No harassment, personal attacks, or disruptive behavior.

Keep discussions civil, even when opinions differ.
3. On-Air Etiquette
-
Identify with your callsign at the beginning, end, and every 15 minutes of transmission.

Avoid excessive key-ups, “kerchunking,” or monopolizing repeaters.

Yield to priority or emergency traffic immediately.
4. Content Standards

No obscene, indecent, or offensive language.

Avoid political, religious, or controversial debates on the air unless they are club-approved discussions.
5. Repeater Use
-
Follow the owner’s rules for any repeater affiliated with the club.

Report interference or technical issues to club leadership.
6. Club Activities
-
Participation in nets, events, and discussions is encouraged but never required.

Help promote a learning environment—share tips, answer questions, and support new operators.
7. Safety & Preparedness
-
Be ready to assist with emergency or public service communications when possible.

Keep your gear in safe working order.
8. Enforcement
-
Violations may result in a warning, suspension, or removal from the club and affiliated systems at the discretion of the leadership team.
