Hmmm, using unlocked radios could be RAM - Rogue HAM DMR....hmmm....thinking....tick,tick
-
I really appreciate you guys, thanks a million!
-
Thanks very much. I will try to reach the owner of that repeater to confirm further.
-
I don't have a Tidradio. Someone who does could answer better.
-
So you have two radios, neither of which can transmit to that repeater... So, its very simple: Tone is wrong Channel/frequency is wrong You're too far from the repeater Repeater is offline I'm out.
-
According to the listed info on this sight, I have confirmed tone. LOL
-
Yes, same problem! I have transmitted between the two radios on a simplex channel miles away and the both work just fine.

Negative, I have not tested the power.
-
Today, I went with in a mile of the repeater and still no hit. Are there some other recommendations in my menu to consider?
-
Have you tried transmitting from your UV5G+? Some Tidradios have bad transmit.
-
ok.. so you have NOT confirmed the tone is correct.. CHIRP looks good to me, but see what the experts have to say. Have you ever tested your radio with a power meter?
-
Yes I have. Or at least what is indicated on this website. I saw that is was updated not long ago as well. Does everything look ok on Chirp. By the way, love your Youtube show!

Have you confirmed that the Transmit tone is correct for the repeater?

When I transmit I say my call name and release and hear no squelch tail, no one responds.
-
-
what channel NUMBER is it? and, what, exactly happens when you transmit?
-
The repeater channel is 17. it's on H power; Tidradio H8 The frequency is 462.600- Tone is 100hz, my squelch is 3; I did not apply a RX Tone;
-
Post a screenshot of the channel settings in Chirp. It's easy to set things wrong in Chirp. [Whenever you want help, give as much detail as you can.]
-
You are correct. I do have a GMRS radio and the offset is automatically applied. I programmed through Chirp. So currently I'm listening to the repeater now; however, I cannot transmit to do a radio check.
-
Fine... I'll allow it.. Mr @WSFM218 please provide an update!
-
unless he overrode via programing software. I did that once.

Those both fall squarely under item #1 of my list.. He has a GMRS radio, and obviously he is a n00b so the mention of "offset" is unnecessary and only adds to his confusion.

Offset +5MHz use a channel that allows transmit you could post all the relevant menu settings so someone might spot what's wrong
-
There are only 3 possibilities: You're on the wrong channel You've entered the wrong code(s) You're too far from the repeater The repeater is no longer online
-
Yes I have tested simplex and that's fine. I cannot break the squelch, and I don't hear anything regarding. What would be your recommendation for programming that I might have missed? It's driving me nuts! LoL!!!
