I did an SWR sweep of the Comet CA-2x4SR antenna on my roof rack mount. The link below shows another Comet antenna, similar, to the CA-2x4SR to show what the roof rack mount looks like.

The same test I did with the Diamond NR240CA. The match was surprisingly good considering how little ground plane there was. Compared to the Diamond I think the SWR sweep was just a bit higher over the range, but otherwise very usable. The CA-2x4SR is also significantly cheaper than the Diamond version.

Since a few people said the antenna has a good match on the Ham 1.25M band I ran an SWR sweep. It does indeed look very good. However since Comet doesn't market the antenna as covering this band who knows what the radiation pattern looks like. The match might be fine, but the pattern might be really messy where the power is going in useless directions instead of horizontally along the ground.
