KS- thanks for checking in... its been a while since i have posted, not much has changed... still playing with my GR1225.... the Kenwoods are sitting on my desk. I have been playing with my other repeater and slowly realizing that i dont have a good location for it. So i'm working on trying to find a location (and antenna), and then i will be excited to finish the build. I'm at the point where i just need to connect all the wires, then test it out... I will update when i have more news.
