I have NOAA alerts on my repeater, 45 second time out, just because that's all you really need to get the point of the alert. I concur that the VHF is sufficient, but we don't keep weather radios in the vehicles or on our person at all times, so it's convenient and good for safety sake, especially in the middle of 1,000 acres.1 point
