Rules for being Americans as the founding fathers intended: 1) mind your own f’ing business 2) never ask the government to clarify anything. It will NEVER go in the direction of freedom. …unless you are a complete a-hole and can’t handle rule #1. P.S. This comment is NOT in response to the few comments above regarding govt use. I don't know the details about that.

Yeah....I love the people who ask the community help, waste their time, and don't post a resolution....

Accepting node connections to my repeater
WRZK971 replied to TheTechPianoPlayerKid's topic in General Discussion
That's what I took out of it. I know what he's trying to do and how to do it. I wouldn't help him even if it was a good idea. I asked him a direct question when I needed help in may, and he just blew it off. It'a all about him. I doubt he has put in any thought about tying up multiple frequencies. -
I have tried changing it back and forth, to see if "asterisk -r" registration errors stop appearing, but it makes no difference. My system is working, so I'm not too concerned with it.

Anybody know the difference between this two iax.conf lines? register = <nodeNum>:<pWord>@register.mygmrs.com register => <nodeNum>:<pWord>@register.mygmrs.com The first is what the myGMRS node registration form gave me. The second a registration line example in iax documentation. Just curious...

Something changed today. I can connect to nodes, and can see tones being sent from the asterisk console when hitting "connect' on the management console. Instead of getting the original rejection notices, I'm getting the following warnings, but don't know if it's anything to worry about: [May 23 10:42:21] WARNING[6714]: chan_iax2.c:10127 iax2_do_register: REGISTER-LOG: Sending registration request for '23302' [May 23 10:42:21] WARNING[6709]: chan_iax2.c:7690 registry_rerequest: REGISTER-LOG: registry rereqquest I'll re-connect my repeater tonight and see if sound is getting through.

I tried the > char, but got the same errors. The > was not it the line given to me when I register the node, but I just gave it a shot anyway. Kind of strange I got the same errors after changing something like that. I did restart asterisk. Maybe you're right that an admin has just not gotten around to approve it.

Thank you for responding. This is what my register line looks like: register = 23302:<myPass>@register.mygmrs.com [with the real password in there, not <myPass>] and left the allstarlink registration line commented out. I tried DMZ'ing to the host, didn't change anything. My normal port forward is working because I verified traffic was able to hit that port from the outside.

Every node I try to connect to immediately disconnects. Anybody have any ideas? It is a fresh setup and my node is listed on the repeater map and the network map. My repeater is working locally, but I can't connect to any other node. The port-forward is set up properly. The repeaterfinder.sh script has the correct username and password. The registration line was put in the iax.conf file, and asterisk was restarted before running the repeaterfinder.sh script. I've allowed several days for the new node update to go out to the other nodes. Any suggestions are appreciated. I turned one of my nodes off (23301) for the time being to stop them from bombarding the registration server, which is returning the errors below. Can somebody try to connect to node 23302 and let me know what happens? Both my nodes are experiencing the same problem. Running <sudo asterisk -r> and seeing the following errors non-stop: Connected to Asterisk GIT Version adaec47 currently running on node-23301 (pid = 520) [May 18 21:08:15] NOTICE[585]: chan_iax2.c:9712 socket_process: Registration of '23301' rejected: '<unknown>' from: '34.194.144.228' [May 18 21:09:05] NOTICE[589]: chan_iax2.c:9712 socket_process: Registration of '23301' rejected: '<unknown>' from: '34.194.144.228' [May 18 21:09:55] NOTICE[593]: chan_iax2.c:9712 socket_process: Registration of '23301' rejected: '<unknown>' from: '34.194.144.228' [May 18 21:10:45] NOTICE[587]: chan_iax2.c:9712 socket_process: Registration of '23301' rejected: '<unknown>' from: '34.194.144.228' [May 18 21:11:35] NOTICE[591]: chan_iax2.c:9712 socket_process: Registration of '23301' rejected: '<unknown>' from: '34.194.144.228' [May 18 21:12:25] NOTICE[585]: chan_iax2.c:9712 socket_process: Registration of '23301' rejected: '<unknown>' from: '34.194.144.228'

Thank you for that. Rich was all over it after that. It's good to go now. -

"Request Node" page not working. Please Help.
WRZK971 replied to WRZK971's question in Technical Discussion
I get it. That is what I'm doing, but just hoping to get some community help in the meantime. "I don't know, what I don't know". Perhaps somebody out there sees I may just missing something, before Rich wastes his time on it. fyi, I'm not doing this out of some obsession to get connected to chew the rag. I'm setting this up to be a last resort lifeline to a vulnerable adult. I'll wait a couple more days, and contact Rich again. I am a director for two different volunteer organizations. I know what it's like to have people up your a*s all the time. -
"Request Node" page not working. Please Help.
WRZK971 replied to WRZK971's question in Technical Discussion
I as responded to you in the other posts: I did. I know this is his hobby, which is why I sent the request once and not hounding him. All my other posts are to the forum, which @rdunajewski prefers, and I respect that. -
Can somebody please assist me here? I am trying to get a node number for my Retevis RT97s repeater, but the node request page is not working. I go to the network page (https://network.mygmrs.com) Click the "Manage" button at the top-right Click the purple "request node" button Select either one of my repeaters from the drop-down list Click "Generate" Nothing happens. I've tried several different computers, and many different browsers, nothing works. Debugging the process show and error when hitting the "generate" button. Does any know if there is a problem with this process, or if I'm missing something and causing the error? I have a lot of money into this from getting all the equipment myGMRS recommends, and I'm dead ended right now. Please help.

I sent an email the support address a couple days ago.

The myGMRS form that gets the request to Rich is not working.

I don't know if he is having the same problem as I am, but I have 2 repeaters listed on myGMRS, and can't get a node number for either of them. I go to the network page (https://network.mygmrs.com) Click the "Manage" button at the top-right Click the purple "request node" button Select either one of my repeaters from the drop-down list Click "Generate" Nothing happens. I've tried several different computers, and many different browsers, nothing works.

I had the problem with dropping the pin on the map, but there was no option to do that. I tried submitting without the pin, and then the pin just appeared on the map, so I dragged it to the right location. So now, I have my repeater listed, but can't get a node number. I select the repeater, hit the "Generate" button and nothing happens. I'm at a standstill.

I am getting conflicting information on this. Can I connect a radio hotspot (RF, not digital) to a repeater that has a myGMRS node number? My father is getting up there in age and likes to walk around in the woods that has no cell service. I live 500 miles away and would like for him to have a way to contact me if something bad happened to him out here. There is a nearby repeater that has a node number listed in myGMRS. I'm trying to figure out of I can build a radio hotspot that can link into that repeater over the myGMRS system. What I would build would be a Raspberry Pi 3 with an RF hat. I know I can do this with GMRSlive and link to their national node, but the local repeaters out there are not linked to GMRSlive. EDIT: myGMRS policy is repeaters only, so I bought a repeater instead. It works great.

Good luck with the replacement. Good radio too. -
Connecting/disconnecting Hotspot Radio node from GMRS repeaters
WRZK971 replied to TheTechPianoPlayerKid's question in Technical Discussion
I am also trying to do this so I can keep in contact with my (in his 70's) father when he's out of cell service. He walks around the woods a lot. There is a repeater nearby, but I live 500 miles from it. Are you saying you were successful in doing something like that? What do you mean "a node that you can connect to"? Does that mean a node you were given special permission to, or one that is publicly listed on myGMRS? Thank you.
