  1. You know, I read back through the responses and most were disgusting. I don't try to sell anything nor will I. I try to pass on real world things that work and help people that spend more time trying new ideas and helping people avoid costs. Some spend more time ridiculing anything and trying to compare it to some great idea they had that they never posted. Like calling this just another repeater. Seriously?
  2. First off I apologize for posing this as a question. Finger and hands did not get together on this one very well. Anyway here it is. RETRANS TO REPEATER SETUP.pptxRETRANS TO REPEATER SETUP.pptx
  3. It is just another repeater of sorts without the cost or a repeater or the cost of the type of mobile repeater you are talking about. This is for the people who are on a budget and want to connect with a repeater instead of just radio to radio. As for the portables a small solar panel and battery work great and cost effective. Just an idea I have not seen on here that may help someone. Hope it does.
  4. No sir, not a parrot at all. This is actually using a duplexer on repeater frequencies in your hand held and coupling two HT's at the high point with the repeater frequencies. I was told this was not possible to do but a little military savy and mission accomplished. Maybe this will help RETRANS TO REPEATER SETUP.pptx
  5. I live on one side of a tall ridge and was not able to hit a repeater I wanted to talk on. After several failed attempts I finally found a simple and inexpensive way to relay my HT to the repeater. If your having this issue and need to know how I fixed it let me know.
  6. I think this was not worded well. The RETRANS does not require another repeater! This is for an HT or Mobile to be able to hit a repeater over some kind of obstacle they cannot otherwise hear or see.
  7. If you live on the opposite side of a mountain, hill, ridgeline or other obstacles, that prevent you from hitting a repeater, there is a way you can do this with another repeater and linking them. RETRANS will allow you to use a mobile or HT and relay to a repeater not just another radio. Works great and has helped communities get connected. Also very inexpensive to do.
  8. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the Tait TP3300 firmware upgrade 1.06.01 or greater?
  9. Well I can't say I didn't get what I expected to get for an answer. Sometime I just like to try new things. I thought like the comment that these must be two different antennas. I checked their site and they don't have a grms and a HAM. It's supposed to be generic for both. Guess I learned my lesson on this one. Just ordered a pre-tuned 10' comet. We will see how that works out.
  10. I recently purchased two Tram 1486 antenna's. Used the chart that came with it and cut it for 467 to use mainly to connect with repeaters. Tested it and got 2:1 for SWR. Not good. The I cut the next one for 462 using the chart that came with it. SWR's were perfect 1:0. The charts attached are not the same and the one I cut for 467 did not have an option for 462 on the tuning sheet but the other one did. Can't quite get my head wrapped around why two different tuning sheet and why the 467 is high on SWR since I transmit on 467. Need some help on this from the antenna smart guys out there. Thanks
  11. I appreciate all the help. I will go forward with this and see how it goes.
  12. The other antennas are mounted vertically about 10 feet above mine and above each other
  13. I am putting a repeater that has other repeaters close by. One transmits on 461mhz and the othe other on 463mhz. I intend to use grms 462.725 TX and 467.725 RX. Should I have any problems with this? The antennas are not that close to each other
  14. Ok, one more update. I did find out I can send the file and example with google drive. So if you need the program and example let me know.
  15. By the way I have the file and the example they sent me but it's 1.2 meg so I don't know if it's to large to send.
