Newbie here, have a UV-5R GMRS Baofeng, preprogrammed with repeaters. Chirp software does not contain this radio yet, it labels the radio a UV-5G even though on the face it says it is a UV-5R with GMRS label behind the battery. I tried to program the DCS receive/transmit tones into the pre-programmed repeater channel along with offset and it does not save in channel mode. So I tried to program the actual repeater by the frequency. On the receive frequency I input the DCS tone and offset and save to a new channel, then program the repeaters transmit frequency with the transmit DCS tone and save to the same channel. I can listen to everything on the channels I saved for the repeater and I can use the PTT button to see the offset occur but I cannot transmit. Help?
