  1. Could be a bogus call sign, but the repeater has a, or what seems to be a machine generated female voice that clearly states the callsign as I listed. Listening to the operators, I can tell they are talking about areas in Mobile Alabama, about 45 miles from me. And as said, I am hitting the repeater from Pensacola. My GMRS antenna is up about 40 feet and don't have a clue the location of their antenna.
  2. Thanks. BTW, if this is really Randy, I am actually watching your latest video on YouTube as I type. Later! -Steve
  3. How can you trace a GMRS callsign being used on a repeater when it is not either located in MyGMRS or the FCC license database? It seems to be coming from a repeater because when the repeater IDs itself, it uses the call sign WINU693. I can't find this repeater listed in MyGMRS or the FCC License Database. When I key up and put out my call sign, I break the repeater squelch. I have heard people speaking on it and it seems to be from near the Alabama/Florida line. I request a signal check but never get a reply, so I don't know if I have my tone(s) set correctly or not, but again, can't find this repeater listed anywhere. Suggestions as why a repeater would be on the air but no call sign listed anywhere?
