I have a 5RM which adds the WX channels and can copy a VHF/UHF frequency from a radio transmitting next to you. Also has Rx on AM Aircraft freqs & FM radio. It has 999 channels too. I load mine up with tower & tracon freqs for the local airports and railroad channels!
OK, so I am joining this topic way late, but I read through most of the comments. My question is that a video on here stated that a Baofeng radio could not be used legally on GMRS unless you had a HAM license in addition to a GMRS license. Is that a transmit power thing or is it bunk?
Do all GMRS repeaters have a +5.0 MHz offset for transmit? (ie: 462.625 Rx is 467.625 Tx)? I think I understand tone codes to transmit to open the repeater.
