    think they are probably using ht "s at max power. 4 to 8 watts maybe.

    kids in my area use 15 and up on full power and do nothing but scream and yell in the radio for what seems like hours at a time tying up the channels. when this happens i have to turn the radio off.

    Yes , tested on several high power channels and yes I did check to make sure settings where on high power also. Guess I will have to send back.

    Hello Just purchased the h 8 and tested the power on several channels and only getting an average of 2.5 watts not ten as advertised. I did reset to unlock and not any better channel 5 on gmrs was 1.78 watts. I'm guessing I have a defective radio or is there a fix for it?

    If someone other than the owner knows the locations can that person add to the map? location was given out on a gmrs group page.
