  1. Perfect, this is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
  2. Thank you!
  3. Hi all! Putting together a comms bug out out bag and looking for some direction. I've already secured a Fara-J antenna and throw line. What coax would you recommend that is lightweight yet good quality? Looking for about 50 ft. Also any recommendations for sbiners. Thank you in advance!
  4. That's exactly what it sounded like. What would be the reason for transmitting dtmf tones on a gmrs repeater? Thanks again!
  5. 100% sure, it's the Ashland, MO repeater. I live in Columbia, MO which is 13 miles north and using the repeater I can reach my family here in town which I can't do with simplex. I love technology!
  6. Definitely not morse code so it's probably dtmf tones. Thank you!
  7. Hi all! I was on a local repeater recently and every so often there were tones coming through like the ones on fire calls. Thoughts? Thank you in advance!
  8. To show the channel name in the TD-H3 Press menu Go to option 19 (MDF-A) Press menu use the up and down arrows to switch between name and freq Select name Press menu again to confirm Go to option 20 (MDF-B} same as above You should be able to enter a name for the channel in CHIRP
  9. Today I received my replacement radio, in fact it was a complete kit. Radio, battery, charging block and cable, antenna and of course the wrist strap. wasn't charged anything so that's pretty good in my book. Cheers!
  10. The wheels are in motion ...
  11. Tried changing power manually from high to low and back again, no dice. Did the firmware update again using a USB C connector and that sailed through just fine, confirmed with the new firmware number in the radio, still no dice. Another source has recommended that I contact Tidradio and send them a video of the testing and they will send me another radio minus the antenna and battery. I will let you know how that turns out. Thanks!
  12. I'll give that a try first and then I will try doing the firmware update again. Thank you!
  13. Hey Randy! It is secured to the point I think I'm going to break it and in regards to fars, that's what I'm trying to determine with the meter as far as output goes. I am testing it on the "High" power channels, 15-22. I checked to make sure all of the channels didn't get changed to "Low" power. Range is good, I could hit a repeater 23 miles away with a good signal. Further testing now shows my fars are much less now after updating the firmware and programming through CHIRP. Did this somehow screw up my transmit wattage? Thanks!
  14. Hi all! For some reason my TD-H3 will not register on my SWR meter, all of my other radios do. I have confirmed the radio is transmitting. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!
  15. Perfect! Thank you!
  16. Hi all! New to GMRS and I think I have a fairly good grasp on it except for preprogrammed radios. I have as KG-935G that is programmed with the 22 GMRS and 8 repeater channels. Are the CTCSS codes for the repeater channels preloaded also? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
