  1. It sounds like the relay wire might have an issue. It could be seated incorrectly in the plug. Not 100% sure, just guessing based off of some issues with wire harnesses I've had in the past. "Some People" might not suggest getting a Kenwood
  2. I do a lot of outdoors work year round here in Michigan. I help out teaching kids to fish and boat safely, farm work, backwoods, camping, etc. So a lot of outdoors, in rain, snow dirt and dust, generally working with 2-4 other folks. I have been considering water resistant/proof HT's, and the Baofeng uv-9g seems to have good reviews with a IP67 rating. Does anyone have any thoughts on this HT? I am also open to suggestions, whatever it is though I need to order at least 3.
  3. Thank you, I appreciate the feedback and the info for the sale!
  4. I have several HT's that I use, being that I do a lot of driving, I recently purchased a radioddity DB20-G mobile unit. The unit it came in a bundle with a 2.5dg gain with a 19.7" tall antenna. I am still rather new to GMRS and learning about all the maths involved with some of these things. I drive between city and rural farm country pretty regularly, though I work and live in urban settings. I understand that there is a difference between high and low dg antenna, with them working better in one or the other of those environments. Does anyone have suggestions on: 1. a better antenna to get, or is the one I have sufficient for now, (key word "now" I'm sure the hobby will take me to new setups soon). 2. does anyone have suggestions on a better city antenna to have as my main antenna? I appreciate any advice or suggestions.
