Just a newbie learning this world of radios. My journey started when I found a Baofeng uv5r on a hiking trail.The battery was dead and it looked washed out from rain. I took it home bought a charger off Amazon and it fired up. I still had no idea what it was even used for. After some youtubing I was very curious. But I quickly learned it was being used for Ham repeaters,weather band and gmrs/frs frequencys.  I did take some coms courses in the military but this didn't cover me for being legally allowed to broadcast . Plus I needed a call sign.Then I discovered GMRS. Got myself a GM21 and here I am. I don't really have any friends that are near me that are even interested in these radios. So I take my radio on different hike trails and attempt to make contact.  Maybe I can make some friends out there after a while and learn more !
