Hey all, I picked up my GMRS license last year but haven't really done anything with it. My grandfather was a radio operator in the Navy in WW2 and then a HAM hobbyist until his death in the early 80s. I'm around SINCGARs radios a lot, and guess I got the bug to learn more. current radio is just a baofeng UV-5RTP . I'm in Northeast Illinois - what are the best questions to ask and the best things to avoid as a new guy?
