  1. Yeah, it turns out I did not have the correct off-set freq inputted. However, I am still running into the same problem. I am going through the steps on setting up a DIY channel correctly. I can get a tone after releasing the ptt, but my voice does not transmit at all, I turned on another radio and stuck it in another room and my voice did not come across, so i do not think range is the issue. I am also less than a mile away from the repeater.
  2. Correct, tall the radios I have programmed prior have a repeater channel with the offset already preprogrammed. You just have to plug in the CTCs. I tried that with the HA1G first, and i get the tone after releasing the PTT but my voice does not come through at all. However, I am still having the same problem after creating a DIY channel with the off-set/receive frequency. I am less than a mile from the repeater so surely range is not the issue here? I did a test on simplex and could transmit over two miles away. Not sure why it is just not working on the repeater.
  3. Okay I guess I am, after looking this is the only radio I have had to manually put in both TX and RX, the TX would just automatically bump the 5mhz up. Still a little new to GMRS. Thanks fellas.
  4. Yeah I am certain. The one I can get a tone on (but my voice does not come across) is named "RPT-3" which the manual states is a repeater channel. I tried setting up a DIY channel as the manual suggests, and they way several YouTube videos instruct, and cannot get a tone. It is like it is stuck in Simplex I am not sure how to distinguish if it is or not.
  5. I can try that and see if it works, but I have never had to program them that way ever. My local repeater both TX and RX are 462.6000. All 5 of my other GMRS radios have no issues.
  6. Just got the HA1G and it seems like a solid radio with great features. However, I cannot for the life of me get it to transmit on a repeater. I have triple checked all of the RX and TX freqs are correct and the CTC tones are correct. I can transmit and other radios within a certain distance can hear me, but I am not making it to the repeater. However, I tested this by driving to the repeater and still got nothing. What is interesting is that if I go to the preprogrammed repeater channels, RPT-3 has the same TX Frequencies but a different RX freq, it being a pre-programmed channel, I am unable to adjust the RX Freq. I programmed in the tones and when I hit the PTT, my voice did not transmit, but I get a tone from the repeater. So I know I am reaching the repeater and the CTC Tones are programmed correctly, but I can not for the life of me figure out what the problem is. This is the second HA1G i have tried. I returned the first because I thought it had to be a faulty radio.. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? It is a shame because this is solid radio, but with out repeater capability it is practically useless.
