I use a Icom IC-Fr 4000 50 watt continuous duty repeater for GMRS and it is built to much stricter tolerances than any built for GMRS radios. Cleanest audio you will ever hear. Transmitter got stuck keyed from a bad ribbon cable that the shop replaced with no problem. Transmitter was keyed at full power for 3 days and nights before anyone could get to it and it did not overheat at all. Built like tank as they say. This one was originally in public safety duty before it was replaced to go digital. So much better than using 2 mobiles cabled together.
