  1. Exactly!
  2. Same as those already shared previously. I'll just echo those.
  3. I removed myself from this Project as state manager. As did another operator I know, who took my place after I removed myself. I have serious concerns about the Project and it's purpose. I'm still on the map, but am no longer going to be a part of this Project.
  4. Personally myself, I wouldn't purchase anything from Midland. They are extremely over priced for what you get. And they aren't made in the USA like a lot people think. Their corporate offices are USA based. These Retevis Repeaters are very good repeaters. I know someone who has one. And they work great. https://www.amazon.com/Retevis-High-Power-Waterproof-Compatible-Raspberry/dp/B0F1G2FC7T/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3PZNSCDQMFT4G&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.qQOrfy8cya8yi3axaBetbOyn7Rg2OyTRuhHxuEx-hQ1bKVW6YbY1zBKGbH1pCDznwY3ROXI3PVudDzYxTwoQdQfL1rlQWTu5A2JyOV1bRogybYYC8MLuw_rxVYjL1Z5o8rX-2ZgBWuuimIVHGCg4DwcIHssifO3AyQP8Ao0i765XsGtCJJ2Agk0mtCcRItiwqBrE2FSaFeYvlV5cl9RJnzc9Tlj9tRotctdMvpvNnYI.staH3_Xbm7xFci42og6SCBxdTsGKDHPav1KQvHQBAEU&dib_tag=se&keywords=retevis+repeater+rt97l&qid=1762089733&sprefix=retevis+re%2Caps%2C417&sr=8-1
  5. That's most likely a broadcast station STL (Studio to Transmitter Link) system. They are in the 900MHz frequency range.
  6. I haven't heard it anymore. Just that one day...
  7. And your probably right about that.
  8. I never hear a callsign.
  9. Yeah I know. I use just surprised that they were doing that. Haven't heard that before. But it's also a business, under rules It could be legal. Usually they are located in another frequency range.
  10. I'm hearing a fast food joint taking order on channel 1 / 462.5625. I guess that's allowed? Or not? LOL
  11. No Windows is not free. You are paying for it, when you buy a computer, or your are paying for it to install on a computer you build. Been there and done that, I know.
  12. Exactly, What I was saying... An unmodulated carrier, is still a carrier, but without audio to modulate it...
  13. It was not on another radio. I reset the radio that was doing it, and it went away.
  14. A HT is all I have it does it everywhere, in the house, outside and in the car.
  15. I get a constant unmodulated carrier sound on channel 19, 462.650. No matter where I am. I didn't notice it until after a firmware update.
  16. That's not what GMRS is for. If you want that, get a ham license. I have a ham license also, and I don't use those digital modes there either.
  17. I haven't heard anything Digital here, data or voice. Hopefully it stays that way. GPS and text messages from a radio? This is radio not a phone or GPS device.
  18. I'll Clarify, We don't need digital voice modes. Analog is just fine for that.
  19. We DO NOT need digital on GMRS. Good Ole analog FM modulation is just fine. Analog works a lot better on GMRS, given it's higher frequencies and lower power levels. Digital would be a disaster waiting to happen for GMRS.
  20. I would go with antenna made for the GMRS frequencies. Been my experience antennas made for ham bands doesn't work all that well. I learned this one the hard way. This is one for GMRS https://theantennafarm.com/shop-by-categories/antennas-mounts/base-antennas/gmrs-base-antennas/gmrs-omni-directional-base-antennas/comet-ca-gmrs-base-antenna-detail
  21. In some states,i.e. OH, using a repeater, your told to stay off of, is considered trespassing. Just like real estate. If your are told to stay off, and you don't, you can be charged with Trespassing on private property.
  22. I sent them back, and got a pair of Retevis/Ailunce HA1G they have been great so far.
  23. They had bad receive. Almost deaf.
  24. That's what I did with those Baofeng GM21's. Sent them back and got a pair of Ailunce HA1G's, they work great.
