  1. I believe I saw advice on some of the youtubes to only include the tx (from memory, radio isn't here right now) and not the rx input tone when programming the radio for repeaters. Why would that be? To also receive non-repeater messages on that frequency? If I'm just wanting to communicate with a family member who is out of direct comm range using the repeater I'd want both rx and tx tones programmed right?
  2. The Wind Gap PA repeater near me Wind Gap 575 says 60 mile range. All things considered (terrain, etc) is that reasonable? Sounds too good to be true. We'll try to range check while out and about.
  3. Ok the trick is to go to the drop down menu by my call sign in repeaterbook.com, which is defaulted to North America, and in that drop down list is GMRS. Thanks. However the 462.625 one in NJ isn't listed there, as it is in mygmrs. Is it typical for someone to not respond to an access request through mygmrs? Maybe it's not open to others, like for a business or something?
  4. Hmm, that green banner isn't showing for me. No green banner. I'm on the latest Chrome browser on Windows 11. Don't see any settings or anything, not using VPN.
  5. I found the perfect repeater to give the range we need (Warren 625 in NJ) but it says unlisted on mygmrs.com. I requested access to that one, plus Easton 600 in PA (both owned by the same person). It's been two weeks and I don't see any response on email or in mygmrs. I don't see them on repeaterbook.com, how do I see gmrs repeaters on that site? Seems to be all ham ones.
  6. I was searching for this same question and thank you for the very explicit responses here!
