Nice! Ive been hoping for more gmrs people up here, it's practically radio silence on the peninsula except for spernard builders supply or the odd snowmachiners with a rugged radio. So where are you on the 19 or 20 travel channel debate?
Anybody have on of these? I'm taming a small amount of land in alaska and I have it pretty well beat it down, but now I need a yard/garden tractor and I just can't stop checking these toy dozers out. Also I think the diy dozer might make good content for my new youtube channel.
In alaska, fisherman and boaters hail and monitor on 16 and just keep it short. 13 and 9 are used mostly by harbor masters and are usually pretty quiet.
As a commercial fisherman I have been monitoring 16 on marine vhf for 30years and like the idea of a gmrs channel to monitor for "hailing and distress " so 19 it is for me. WRFU 414 standing by on GMRS 19 in Alaska. Although I'll still be scanning to.
Thank you gentlemen, now I just need to pick a antenna. I didn't think it would cause a problem but I'm still a bit new to the gmrs thing so I figured it's best around first.
