I got my GRMS license, bought a radio and figured I would learn as much as I can at this level. I am 77 so am slower on the uptake than I used to be but love learning new things. This year I set my sights on learning about 'communications' in general and decided to dive head first into GRMS.....and here I am. As far as taking the test, that will be down the road a bit.

I am new to the radio world (specifically GRMS) and would like to know where one goes to shop (retail offline). I have browsed many online places but as a newbie, I find it difficult to determine what sets of things I need to put together. I am sure all I need is there and when I am more experienced that's where I'll go but for now it is very confusing. My thinking is that having a knowledgeable sales person in a electronics or 'radio only' store may be what I need to guide me through the maze of products and questions. At least to get me started on my way. Any retail store suggestions?
