  1. This site and the growth of linked GMRS repeaters has been one of the most exciting things regarding radio. The FCC's position is not only frustrating it is nonsensical. There may be some reasonable rationale, but no one has been able to explain it beyond a dismissive claim of potential interference. It's reminiscent of a parent saying "because I said so". I'll sign the petition. I'm just shaking my head at their rule absent any explanation that makes sense. Thanks for all you do and have done! 73
  2. I apologize for the late response as I'm just seeing this several months later. I understand the issue of weight pulling down on it and causing it to separate. To relieve the strain on that joint, tie the knot below it, at the base, below the radials. To keep the antenna vertical tie a loop in the rope near the top. This loop won't hold the weight of the antenna and cable, but it will keep the antenna upright. Diagram attached.
  3. Sure looks like NMO to me.
  4. Hi! New to GMRS. I got a BTECH GMRS-50X1 with a Nagoya NMO-200C on an RB-50 mag mount. Just wanted to say hi from north Alabama.
