  1. I just ran into and resolved this same issue. I found a fix at https://embetronicx.com/uncategorized/fixed-prolific-pl2303ta-usb-to-serial-and-windows-11/ My driver version now shows as follows and my CHIRP is CHIRP-ing again.
  2. Greetings, I am a fairly new owner of a RA25 as well. Unfortunately I don't know anything about the NC feature, so I will be monitoring the responses to see if there is something I may have overlooked in my programming. My question is why are you manually programming? My RA25 came with the programming cable, and the software is a free download. The software isn't a friendly as CHIRP, but it does work and it make downloading new programming to the radio take less than a minute. Eric
  3. Just search the ULS website for ZA licenses using your name. I originally found mine online before I found the email buried in my inbox. Eric
  4. I just purchased 4 Retevis RB27's for our family from Amazon for $135. They are available for different prices depending on the number of radios you purchase. They don't have too many buttons, software programmable, and in 4 days of ownership mine has already passed the drop test. I wish there were more characters available for text labels, but that is just my personal preference. Eric
  5. Greeting, I have been a ham operator for over 20 years and I have had a gmrs license for 30 days. I found my Retevis RA25, (clone of the Radioddity DB20g) to be a good deal for the money. It is a micro-mobile with a cigarette lighter plug and in UV mode it can be programmed to TX anywhere on 2m/70cm I wish to operate. I plan to purchase additional units for each vehicle. I believe that being able to give memory locations a name rather than just 462.XXX will be a lot more user friendly for my non-ham family members.
