  1. Except when using a radius it always return zero results. Even when I know that is false.
  2. Is there a way to do this? I know for industrial and such you can. Just pondering the possibility.
  3. Thank you for the detailed analysis. This was very helpful as I go home tonight to fit a PA to my repeater. I am never one to push wattage as I understand the difference between 40 and 45 watts in db on the other end is usually negligible. I'm just bringing mine up to the point that transmit matches receive.
  4. Shameless plug here. I have a couple TK-880H-1 for sale Message if interested.
  5. I guess my google skills failed me.
  6. That is because that is for those that have network nodes. Unless you have a repeater and have requested a node number assignment, then you don't have the credentials to use that page.
  7. Here's the manual see page 33-34 User-Manual-5213303.pdf
  8. According to the manual it should be fine in the GMRS. A little concerned you said you copied from the ht to the radio. If you just loaded the same image in chirp it may not be compatible. Any time you program with chirp you need to have an original image from the radio or one from an identical radio to start with and then modify as necessary. So if you took the image from the UV-5 and loaded it directly into the QTY that may explain your issue. Yes it is technically ham and not certified for part 95.
  9. Well I abandon the 880 to repeater program as I found an affordable Motorola PA that will do the trick.
  10. Ended up getting a Motorola PA. Thanks guys for the advice.
  11. gortex2 already on my watch list. Thank you.
  12. I had that thought also gentlemen, but I also have a box of the 880Hs. I may have to sell a couple off and get a TPL.
  13. JohnE thank you for the info. According to my service manual TKR-840 is 100mw to 5w is it underrated or were you thinking the TKR-850?
  14. Wondering has anyone done something like this? I want to turn off the 5 watt transmitter in the TKR-840 and use the 40 watt transmitter of the TK-880H. I am think all it takes is inhibit TX of the repeater, use the COR signal from the repeater to key the TK-880H and receive audio from the repeater to the microphone line of the 880. Is my thinking correct? Any insights?
  15. I'm not sure where the article went, but it was very simply retuning the vco voltages. If you grab a service manual and look at the alignment section. it will give three frequencies to check the vco voltage. Change the vco tuning frequencies and tune for specified voltages and all should be good. Much of the overseas market goes down to 440Mhz for commercial so the radio is designed to go there, but for US it is tuned upward. Now I'm trying to interface one with my TKR-840 to act as it's transmitter instead of the internal 5 watt one.
  16. Yes mine are the - 1 or 450-480 split. I found an article shortly after this question which stated they have retuned them and they are working fine. So I'm going to try that.
  17. Is there retuning required for use in 70cm? Anyone with experience in this?
  18. Following here as I'm getting a repeater up in NE Indiana and will be looking into linking.
