Morning. Does anyone know of a radio shop located in the Austin/Buda Texas area? I’m on a mission to set up a public repeater in the Buda area and I’d like to locate someone local that may be able to tune or assist me in tuning my inexpensive notch duplexer. I have a VNA and I think I know how to do it based on my research, but it would be nice to have a local contact with more experience. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks all!

I have 2 Motorola XPR8400 UHF 450-512Mhz repeaters with duplexers. They've been taken out of a working system. They both put ~44Watts out to dummy load. Asking $500 + shipping from zip 60005. They have simple features enables; FM and digital mode, IP Site connect, enhanced privacy, transmit interupt and satelite receiver. PM me please if interested.

I set up a repeater with my KG-1000's using an XLT-50 duplexer from BuyTwoWayRadios and the performance was not good. I used a Tram 1486 fed with 55ft of LMR400 with a height of about 50ft. The receive range was only a couple of miles. Thinking about two antennas and separating the two radios by extending the coupling cable that came with the radios. I would like to separate the radios by about 70ft or so. Each end of the house. Question, does anyone have any experience in such a situation, and if so, do you have any info on how far you can extend this connecting cable without affecting the performance of this repeater configuration? I'm thinking this would help greatly reduce the affects of desensing.

I just posted my Motorola repeater for sale on eBay. The auction ends 5:38PM (Pacific), 4/16. I used it as a repeater with my GMRS walkie talkies (Motorola MS350R). The auction includes the repeater, microphone, two antennas, coax cable, and programming software and cable. The unit is programmed to work with 8 GMRS channels and two privacy codes (see the auction page for the details). You can my find my ad by searching eBay for item: 132575810225. If you have any questions, please contact me via eBay. Thanks. Michael.

I have been running a repeater here in south Florida, I have been using an RFS compact duplexer the whole time, but it seems to be the source of my high SWR readings, I acquired this unit with the Uniden repeater and had it tuned by a local HAM. so I purchased a Phelps Dodge 4 can style duplexer tuned to TX471 MHZ RX 474 MHZ , I chose based on technicians recommendation and I have arranged to have it shipped directly to the technician for a professional tune. Now with questions, Should I have going with a 6 can set? are full can style better than the small portable duplexers? some units use small cheap looking coax. yet others use LMR400, any difference? I know this is a small forum, but I like the people here, so ring in guys.
