Hello all. I am fairly new to the GRMS scene and I have just started working with some new radios. I have had a Kenwood TK-880-1 since I started with the fire department in 2001. When our department closed I removed the radio from my POV and mothballed it. I have recently pulled it out of retirement. When doing this I came across its higher power brother the TK-880H. I ordered one of these used off eBay. My plan was to clone my 880 to the 880h. So far I haven’t been able to do this. my first question is my 880H keeps talking about groups when I go to program it. My 880 was pretty straight forward to add grms freq. to. This 880H seems different and I am not really sure if I am doing something wrong or what??? Any help on this would be amazing. I just purchased a Kenwood TK-880 off of Ebay and a programming cable (BlueMax49ers FTDI USB Serial Cable). I installed KPG-60D for windows and I get an error when I attempt to communicate with the radio. I choose "Program" then "Read from Radio", and get error "Check radio type. Retry or Cancel". I verified the COM port. The radio shows "Program", but the software isn't getting past this message. On other forums I read that software KPG-49D is used for this radio. I downloaded the program but it won't install on my Windows 7 PC. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.
