Wouxun KG-1000G+ Audio isn't loud enough....... due to placement of radio

Obviously, I can hold the mic to my ear, however, for longer periods I am looking for an external Speaker (amplified).  Remember the speakers we used to have for our PC's, they had small amps in them.

I have it mounted just behind the center console of a 4 Door Toyota Tacoma.  4 Door Truck.

I bought a Uniden Bearcat Speaker and it is not as loud as the radio.

Is anyone found a speaker that can be turned up.   I am 60 and worked in industry.  I don't really want to wear a headset, which seams dangerous to me.

Help.  Any radio is no good unless it can be heard clearly.  Note:  I have a VHF Yaesu FTM-400 with a Yaesu external speaker and that radio can drive the speaker well.

Maybe the woxoun can’t drive an external speaker very well but with a the $125 tyt radios we use in all our trucks the used Motorolas speakers are very very loud.  I can hear them on a dirt road in a 35yr old diesel truck with the windows open and a 10,000lb horse trailer in tow.
I can hear my base station with a Motorola speaker in any room in the house.

sorry to here about the kg-1000. Btw

The specified audio power on the 1000G+ is 3W, external or internal which is what the vast majority of radios out there have. Some do have 5W. So it should be as loud as the internal speakers at least. If it's not, try another speaker.

I've no issues with my Wouxun "driving" external speakers, same loudness as the internal (seems louder to me actually). It's a 90's Cobra external speaker. But if your hearing is marginal it's always gonna sound not the best.

There's options but all require another power source:

Power(amplified) speaker: Needs external 12v source. Ex: https://www.wearecb.com/bc23as.html

Audio jack to bluetooth: a small bluetooth device that plugs into the external speaker jack and pairs with your cars bluetooth. Requires power (most are just battery powered and have a USB port to charge but if you permanently plugged the USB port into a power source it's always powered). Pair this device with your bluetooth enabled car stereo, and your audio will come thru your vehicles speakers. Ex: Amazon listing

Audio jack to FM Transmitter. A small FM transmitter that plugs into your external speaker jack. Requires power (most are just battery powered and have a USB port to charge but if you permanently plugged the USB port into a power source it's always powered). Tune your car stereo to the devices output station and your audio will come thru your vehicles speakers. Ex: amazon listing

I use the Icom SP-35 speaker for my Wouxun KG-1000g and my Icom IC-2730B. You can usually find the SP-35 on Amazon for $35. They are plenty loud.

The Wouxun will drive the Icom SP-35 just fine. I normally don't turn the volume up past 5 or 6 on my KG-1000G in the car.

A common mistake that some make is trying to use a y adaptor  plugged into both speaker ports on the KG-1000G going into 1 speaker. You get an impedance mismatch when trying to run one speaker plugged into both radio speaker ports and the sound level will very low.

The only way I have found to run a single speaker is to use a dual mono to stereo y adapter AND a stereo speaker with dual speakers in the housing. A single channel speaker will not work.

Now if you need something louder, there are the Midland 20 watt speakers. I have the 20 watt SPK-100 speaker on my SxS and I can hear the radio just fine while cursing down gravel roads at 35 mph. And I don't have to crank the radio volume way up either.
