New to gmrs

I'm new to the radio communications game. I had some training in service for it but gmrs is a different beast. I'm running a uv9g and think I have everything set correctly but nobody can hear me. I've got the +5 offset and the ctcss for 462.675 but I'm not getting anything back.

As many times as the question is ask.  I've been around since the days of bulletin boards.  Newbies are always asking the same questions.  We can either insult them or invite them.  I've always been in favor of inviting.
