Guest Ted grener Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago I bought an inverter for 110v to Dc 15 amp for my 20 watt mobile. When I plugged it in it shows 12.9 volts. Will this lower my output as the vehicle outputs 13.8 volt. Quote

amaff Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago Will it lower your output power? In my experience, it often does. Will it lower it enough to matter? In my experience, no. Quote

The more I think about this I think maybe you’re not really talking about an inverter but rather a 15 amp switch mode power supply, 110 volts AC input and 12.9 volt dc output. Is that correct? Is that correct? yup.. could be a chrger too. Some people with big linears use chargers for whatever reason. Quote
LeoG Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago It's a power supply, not an inverter. An inverter takes DC and changes it to AC. Good chance the power output will be a bit lower. Probably won't matter that much though. Unless your normal signal is going through obstacles such as trees. Quote
