I am trying to set up my data bank for repeaters that I use/may use I Am in Quincy/milton mass area and I am getting a silent rx from some .625 repeater (I am using midland mobile mxt 15watt with midland roof antenna. ) I can't find any influence info on any repeaters on the what might be sending this phantom signal...oh...btw... test freq reception at granite links golf... way up high above boston. Thanks for the help. By “silent RX” do you mean the LED is coming on but you don’t hear any audio or do you mean you hear the carrier but there’s no voice? Keep in mind that not only repeaters transmit on 462.625 MHz but also people using simplex channel 18 for both FRS and GMRS. Quote

Yeah...led and some times led and crackling but no choice... yes I thought that non- repeater traffic may be the reason. I was trying to try random pairs of tx and rx codes but low prob of getting the right combo... Quote

I got noise with both no tx, rx codes as well as at lady one pair. Quote

Yes thought it might be simplex except for I got sound with 67 67... Quote
