Amateur radio needs more young folks.

How I got started? I went to a Ham Radio flea market with my brother, who was a Ham at the time, to look for deals on test gear. Out of the blue he asked me to take the Tech exam while there, no studying, and he offered to pay the fee. Sat for the test, and walked away with a passing score. Most of the questions were just plain common sense.  

Some years later when the FCC dropped the CW requirement I sat for both the General and Extra exams. Passed those too. I did run through a few sessions of practice exams on QRZ first.
