WSET810 Posted November 28, 2025 Posted November 28, 2025 Hi everyone! My name is Luis....I'm pretty new to GMRS and I live in Deltona (Howland Blvd. area). I've requested access to some repeater owners but no response received yet. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance! Quote

Thank you in advance! Welcome, Luis! Unfortunately, some repeater owners are very slow to respond. If the repeater you requested access to is listed as “open” you should be able to just use it. Often, owners of open repeaters don’t want to even be asked. There are several instances within these forums of people not hearing back from the owner despite months of waiting. There’s not really a great answer. You can always send them a letter via snail mail. That might get a response. If you hear traffic on the repeater and know the tone of code you can key up during a quiet time and ask for permission. The worst that can happen is to be told no. For future reference, you might include more information about the location, such as city, state, call sign and name of the requested repeater. I’m from Montana and Deltona/Howland Blvd is meaningless to me. Good luck and welcome to the forums! WRUU653 1 Quote

GreggInFL Posted December 1, 2025 Posted December 1, 2025 Welcome, Luis. Have you tried Orlando 700? The owner does not reply to requests, but the repeater is wide open. Rumor has it that it is on a 400' tower in Longwood. 725 in Deland is also open but has not been updated in 10 years; it's on the map as "stale." I haven't tried to hit it so cannot vouch for its existence. Input tone is 192.8. (I'm in the Oviedo area most of the time.) SteveShannon 1 Quote
WRCZ387 Posted December 4, 2025 Posted December 4, 2025 There used to be a simplex node that was linked to a network at 462.550 with tone in & out of 141.3 in Deltona I don't know if it's still there, it's been awhile since I've been to the Orlando area Quote
