Question

Posted

Just purchased the kg-s65g and like it a lot. My only problem is the fm radio. It shows up at the top of the screen but no speaker icon so no sound. Is there a setting I’m missing? Thank you, WSJY470

I don’t have this particular radio and honestly I don’t really use the FM radio but I do have the KG-935G plus and from what I can see they look to be of the same layout. Have you tried hitting the scan button to find a station? Beyond that I would contact Buy Two way Radios. I found their customer support to be good. I hope that helps.

Do you see a frequency at the top of the screen?  Have you assigned the fm radio to a button and programmed a frequency as described on page 50 of the manual: wouxun_kg_s65g_owners_manual.pdf?srsltid

Thank you. Since I didn’t purchase the radio from them I was hesitant to ask.

Yes, I’ve done that. If I turn the radio off and back on the radio works. I can scan the stations. If I then turn off the fm radio it won’t work again unless I turn the radio off and back on. Not a big deal. It seems I can not use both at the same time. Thanks!

When you say that you can not use both, do you mean you can’t scan stations while listening to a single FM radio station?

Exactly! It only scans the fm stations. I have to turn fm off to scan channels. I put another antenna on so the fm radio now at least turns on. I don’t have to turn off the radio and turn it back on for fm to work. Maybe the antenna was the problem.

Is it a dual receiver radio?  If not, that’s the only way it could work.

I believe that is normal. The controls don’t work for GMRS and fm broadcast radio at the same time.
