Guest Mark Stillman
I have a GMRS repeater at my home in Newark, DE, and I am interested in formally putting it back on the air should there be interest by others to utilize it. My GMRS license has expired, but I will gladly renew it if there are potential local users (open syst.). Freq: 462.575, 131.8 pl. The antenna is on my ham tower at a height of about 55 ft. Thus, coverage is somewhat limited due to elevation. If interested, please let me hear back from you! Thanks.Mark

brettstoner
Just curious what kind of range are you getting with your antenna height and is it urban/rural?
Logan5
Too bad it's at the opposite end of the state from Rehoboth Beach. At least Delaware has joined the GMRS age. Now if we can just get a repeater in DC.
Guest Mark Stillman
Just curious what kind of range are you getting with your antenna height and is it urban/rural?It is directly correlated to height above sea level. The area I am in varies from 350 ft to a just a foot or two above sea level. My repeater can go into PA for 15-20 miles, and into MD for 8-10 miles. Yet, go east from my site (toward NJ and the DE River) and just a few miles away at 7 ft above sea level it is noisy/intermittent. Go beyond that point when traveling and the signal is back up/down and I can hear it (spotty in NJ). Sorry I cant give you a straight answer, but again it is directly attributed to elevation. FYI, my QTH is 70 ft above sea level.

I neglected to answer part of your question: I live in an urban area.
Mark
Mark, I am interested in setting up GMRS repeater(s) in Delaware. I am located in Middletown Delaware (50 ft above sea level) with an active repeater and a 6 db antenna on a 64' mast. I have reached the repeater from my mobile from the Pennsylvania / Delaware border (Newark to Concordville) and a little North into PA, the Elk River in Maryland, Western Salem County New Jersey and most of New Castle County Delaware. Let me know if you are still interested. Thanks,Mark Logan5
