Sounds good to me. I just received my Tidradio H9 and none of the freqs are GMRS.  I switched it to HAM mode to get at least 1 GMRS channel in there.  It's clear and looks good but is pretty much a paperweight.

Did I miss something about the H9 not being programmable?? This seems eminently fixable...

I’m curious, what mode was it in that it had no GMRS frequencies, yet wasn’t in ham mode? What frequencies were available in that mode?

This is the exact package that I purchased directly from Tidradio.  It's showing the price in pesos because I'm in mexico. Had it delivered to my PO box in AZ.  When you hold the PTT, the star button and turn on the radio you can select the mode you want.  It erases everything except for the gmrs channels.

Here's a picture of the actual package I purchased, the CPS showing the gmrs channels, and a couple pictures from the radio.  These frequencies aren't even PMR like I got a European model. The radio screen also looks like it has ctss codes preprogrammed.

Here's my 3rd edit.  You can also see that the CPS they supply is for an H3.  I might need to look at the settings for that. That could be on me. Either way it says if you're Kenwood style cable won't program the radio to use the app or USB c. Neither work.

There's something going on now.  There aren't any HAMs in the area to try a different Kenwood plug. Mine refuses to work with Windows 11 on my 878uv2.  I've installed half a dozen drivers. It's possible it was damaged during the move but I won't buy another one for this turd.

When I do put it in vfo mode and use a gmrs channel with a gmrs antenna there is an annoying high pitched tone in the background.

I've gotten update. I was able to download a CST file, switch to normal mode and program all the gmrs frequencies. I tested the first six channels against my Rocky Talkie expedition radio and it worked fine.

Apparently the radio doesn't like a thunderbolt 4 port.  It worked with the One USB a port I have with the cable that it came with. It's odd though that you can't just hit the a CTS button and go to like six or what are the other standard tones. The manual comes with a frequency list. Luckily there's a tone scan feature that I'll have to try to figure out.

I still couldn't get it to change the channels and proper GMRS mode.  I'll try again. I can see how this radio would be an issue for a newbie.  I feel like this should have its own post rather than hijacking this post but hopefully there's enough keywords in here that the search function will help someone find it. I'll help anyway I can if someone ends up having trouble with theirs
