Guest Hcaroselli Posted Monday at 11:29 PM Posted Monday at 11:29 PM Hello - I am totally new to this GMRS stuff and want to start with a very basic question. The other day I completed an online license application and paid with my credit card. I did not receive any information after that. What happens next? Shouldn't I receive a license? Thank you. Hector Caroselli You should have received a link in email to download your official copy. Check your spam bin. What’s your FRN? I can’t download your official copy but I can look up your account and let you know if a license has been issued. Usually it’s within one or two business days after payment. Quote

beerftw Posted Wednesday at 02:13 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:13 AM For anyone else seeing this, the application get's processed, either green light or red light. Red light does not mean denied but a discrepency or something in your background they need to double check or need confirmation on. If you get a green light usually they send an email wanting payment, you go to fcc cores website and pay the fee. From there they process on weekdays, not weekends or holidays, and a call sign can be the next business day or in the next few business days depending on backlog, usually sent by email but sometimes callsign emails get lost in the matrix, so you can check daily with the fcc sight as well. Enjoy how uncle sam works, he works at light speed when you owe money, but works at a snail pace when he owes you something. SteveShannon 1 Quote

Used to be, get FRN (or log in to acct if you already have one). Apply for new license, (type ZA) and fill out info. Pay $35 and wait. Now you say they process first and then ask for money? Quote

As I recall they had a problem issuing refunds. This red light/green light process may have been done to prevent taking payments that for licenses that won’t be issued. amaff 1 Quote
