0 Shriekmau
I use DXengineering all the time. They are awesome. Hamradio.com is good too, as well as gigaparts.com.
0 Billy
What is the charging amp output of your repeater John. These units only alow a max of 3.6 amps of charging. That will keep a battery floated very nicely, bulk charge is another story. I know my machine only outputs half of that at 1.8 amps max, basically a trickle charger. 0 JohnE
both of my machines have 50A PS's. 3.5 A of charge will not be a problem. measured current draw is ~15A in TX W/amps.just an FYI most of the PS out there are rated at intermittent use for max draw. an example would be Astrons 12A supply is rated for 9A continuous and 12 intermittently. the 50's I have are 37A cont. and 50A int.you would need at least what you machine draws in TX plus the 3.6 and I would add 1 or 2 more for head room. 0 Billy
Roger that, I forgot your setup. My machine has a DC trickle charger for battery backup and the switch it internal. So basically all I need is a battery, power goes out it drops down to half output and runs off the battery. My internal power supply is rated at 10 amps (it is a HD one, LOL). Yours is much more complicated.
0 JohnE
bought 2 of these for myself from the above vendor as my supplier is no longer carrying Astron products.I asked why and it appears there has been some QC and PR problems. I am now looking at Samlex and Duracom.I have never been a fan of switching supplies but it seem that that is the trend.thishttp://www.samlexamerica.com/products/ProductDetail.aspx?pid=34wow not a bad pricehttp://www.dxengineering.com/parts/sxa-03271 Edited August 28, 2014 by JohnE
0 Logan5
That's a shame about the Astron, Still waiting to get the Solar panels reinstalled here. Keeping the batterys charged with AC charger for now. If I have a power fail condition, I would have to switch manually to the batterys.
