Late Wednesday - ok actually very early on Thursday 10/31/2013 there was a repeater working on 725 in central NJ.  I do not know what tone it was using - I monitor 462.7250 aka GMRS 22 with an open Rx.

At about 2:30 AM  or 0230 hours, there was unusual activity - people were actually talking and I could hear the repeater hang - then an individual came on the air and "advised" who ever was using that "channel" that it was a private repeater and they were to clear the "channel" as it was private.

That announcement was made several times until someone who must be close to me because they came in very strong and advised the person making the announcements that while their repeater may be private - the frequency is public and any licensed individual could use the frequency. Then everyone went quiet.

Anyone aware of a new repeater in central NJ on 725 ?

I am 7 mile north west of center city Trenton NJ.

Just curious

Thanks - no biggie - was just curious - generally there is no one ever and I mean ever on 725.  We use it as our home channel on all of our units while in NJ.  We had picked this frequency because we never ever heard anyone on it.

Anyway - hope everyone has a great day - a happy and safe Halloween !

There is a new repeater up on this site on 725 from the Bronx.  Not sure if it can make it to Trenton though.  I don't hear it from Central Long Island.

Yes I think Trenton would be a bit far from the Bronx.  I have not heard anyone on 725 since then.  One of the radios is scanning GMRS pretty much 24/7.

If I hear anything else I will post up.
