quarterwave Posted January 10, 2020 Report Posted January 10, 2020 If so can you hear trunking data on 462.575 at full quieting? I'd like to think it's a mix, but it sure sounds right on to me. Heard very strong in Obetz and can hear as far South as Circleville on mobile, so it makes me want to rule out harmonics, etc. Quote
WRAF213 Posted January 10, 2020 Report Posted January 10, 2020 Can you get an audio recording of it? I'm not in the area, I'm just wildly curious. Quote
quarterwave Posted January 10, 2020 Author Report Posted January 10, 2020 Not practical right now. Not worth the drive! It sounds just about like the control channel data on an old Moto SMR. Quote

quarterwave Posted January 11, 2020 Author Report Posted January 11, 2020 I was able to hear it on a mobile and base yesterday South of Circleville. It's definately around Obetz - Rickenbacker area. When I was up there it was strong and right on frequency. Hearing it two days in a row means the system did not change control channels each day. If I had to guess...someone needed another channel for their system and figured no one would notice. Quote
jwilkers Posted January 27, 2020 Report Posted January 27, 2020 On a related note.. I'm hearing what sounds to be DMR on 462.6625 in Columbus. Definitely a repeater there, since I actually heard part of a CWID.... bold, since they are actually IDing, while using a digital mode. I have a pretty poor setup, no external antennas, so I'm not getting a solid copy. I have a DMR radio on that freq, so if they are actually DMR, i can hopefully pick them up if they're not running encrypted. Quote
scottmckinney67 Posted January 28, 2020 Report Posted January 28, 2020 Hi. I'm in Columbus. I'm trying to find an open repeater that me and my son can use. I looked in the listings and I saw one and requested access but no response. Fairly new here so I'm not sure what I'm hearing at this point Sorry for the hijack, just saw some Columbus folks and figured I'd ask. Thanks! Quote
quarterwave Posted January 28, 2020 Author Report Posted January 28, 2020 I'm 45 miles out myself, but I understand on the repeater listings. I emailed one of them weeks ago with a questions...no response. They leave their fancy call sign emails...but won't respond. Quote
