Question

Posted

I have some Baofeng BF-888s I bought preprogramed from the repeaters owner. so I have Chirp.  I just bought a Motorola XPR-5550e and want to program it to the repeater. in chirp the tone mode is set to cross. there is no cross on Motorola CPS V16.  any idea how i set it. I also have a Motorola XTS3000 that is already set up for the repeater so i dought its not possible to figure it out.

The XPR series programs differently than conventional radios do as they are digital radios, even though you are using it in analog.

Assuming you know what you are doing with the programming, to set two different tones on CPS 16, you simply select the tone you want for RX under the RX box, then the tone you want for TX under the TX box. Those tones can be the same or completely different. To my knowledge Motorola radios are not friendly with Chirp as the firmware on the radio is proprietary.

its not TPL frequency because that only goes up to 255Hz. this is DTCS code 315, DTCS Rx code 465, t(hey go up to 754), cross mode DTCS->DTCS,  DTCS Pol NN,  in CPS i can put it to DPL and then i can enter DPL codes of 315 and 465.  i bet thats it.
