JohnE Posted July 18, 2014 Report Posted July 18, 2014 this is geared towards the HAM crowd but can be made to work for GMRS since propagation at UHF freqs don't vary as much.been using it for a while and it seems pretty close for what we here would use it for. getting a rough clue as to how far our machines will be heard.you will have to registerhttp://www.cplus.org/rmw/rmonline.html Quote
Unit61 Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 I have been using that program for a few years for both GMRS and HAM. As long as you use the highest Freq for HAM UHF it is for the most part close. Quote
zap Posted November 7, 2014 Report Posted November 7, 2014 Splat! is a favorite of mine. 20 MHz-20 GHz Quote
Steve Posted November 11, 2014 Report Posted November 11, 2014 thanks for the map maker link. it has come in handy as I look aroud for my home coverage area with GMRS and antenna height. from 1 m on the ground to 10 meters on my roof, it looks like i get twice the distance "in green" on that map. height is king!
