Question

Hello I am new to gmrs have been a ham for many years. Recently scored a lot of motorola commercial radios and price was right free so I thought I would give gmrs a try. I have 1 cdm 1550, 1 m1225 8 pm400  uhf high power 2 pm400 uhf low power 1 pm400 vhf low power

Anyway thinking about using the pm400s for now. My question to anyone who is using the pm400. Is there a standard set up that I should have programed or is it like ham with various tones

Your PM400s can be setup with front panel selectable TPL or DPL (but not both) which will depend on what’s commonly in use in your area.

I run a PM400 in my truck for GMRS and am totally happy with it.

With any of these radios, adding an external loudspeaker greatly improves the receive audio to your ear. I keep several on hand, all Motorola, of course.
