n1das Posted September 20, 2021 Report Posted September 20, 2021 This application appeared today on fccid.io: AZ489FT7146 https://fccid.io/AZ489FT7146 Motorola is adding to their 900MHz FHSS digital on-site business radios with the Curve Series. It is a DLR style radio with 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi added to it. I don't understand the "Curve" name to it. Should be interesting. It doesn't appear to have any Bluetooth capability but that might come in a future model. The 900MHz FHSS digital system is compatible with the DTR and DLR series radios. Radioguy7268 1 Quote
PACNWComms Posted November 7, 2021 Report Posted November 7, 2021 Having used DTR series Motorola radios for many years now, I try to keep up on new versions. Thank you for posting, this could be an interesting new product line. Quote
gman1971 Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 Indeed, wish they weren't so butt ugly... but... Quote
Lscott Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 They look a little bit like the cheap CLS analog series radios. I have a buddy that picked up a CLS-1110 and CLS-1410 on eBay some time back. You can't do much with them due to the frequencies are preprogrammed, and you can only pick from the list. I guess if you're miles from nowhere nobody will notice you're on the commercial UHF frequencies in them. https://www.hq98.com/content/Motorola-CLS-1110-1410-Brochure.pdf Quote
Stripes Posted May 11, 2022 Report Posted May 11, 2022 And hey! They are finally out now! Im planning on getting a few to test. There audio quality is reported to be significantly improved from past DLR and DTR series. Quote
gman1971 Posted May 11, 2022 Report Posted May 11, 2022 Wish they didn't look like fisher-price toys... but I am sure they perform much better than most CCRs out there... G. Quote
Lscott Posted May 11, 2022 Report Posted May 11, 2022 I wonder how long it will take before you see these showing up on eBay at a cheap price. Stripes 1 Quote
richc66 Posted June 12, 2022 Report Posted June 12, 2022 Wondering if Wifi is just for command and voicemail or can you extend transmit from site to site on a closed network over WiFi? I'm guessing no but that'd be an awesome feature! Quote

However motorola hasn't released the portal software (as far as im aware) so you really cant get that set up just yet. But it works just like a normal DLR radio otherwise in a nicer housing. Quote

That would turn it into a PoC radio https://www.retevis.com/poc-radios Quote
