I put a Radioddity DB25-G into service a few weeks ago. It has on the menu a gain control adjustment of 0 to 127. It comes as 0 as a factory setting. After some comments on the quality of my transmissions ( clipping of some letters like s & t ) I adjusted my distance from and angle to the microphone. I still got some sub par reports so I raised the gain to 38 about 30% of the range and have had no reports if clipping.
My question is what does gain control on the microphone affect ?
