Guest WaG Posted April 2, 2022 Report Posted April 2, 2022 Bought an MTX400. Have a pair of GTX1030 handhelds. The GTX1030 handhelds display 15 01 and both transmit and receive beautifully. Connected MTX400 to vehicle battery and with vehicle running everything seems to be running correctly. Set MTX400 to channel 15 and am confused by the tables provided in Midland's owners manuals. I set it to DCD and privacy code 1. Is that correct to talk to the GTX1030's? Both owners manuals for the MTX400 and GTX1030 have tables referencing privacy codes. I observe transmission when using the microphone on the MTX400 but the handhelds do not receive the transmission. I have searched the internet for a specific example but cant find one. Quote
OffRoaderX Posted April 2, 2022 Report Posted April 2, 2022 IMO, the best, easiest thing to do is to remove any codes/sub-channels/tones/"security" settings from the GTX1030 and put it on good, old-fashioned, regular channel 15. Both radios, and any other radio with GMRS Ch 15 will all then be able to talk, confusion-free. Quote
wayoverthere Posted April 3, 2022 Report Posted April 3, 2022 If code 1 for dcs (DC) isn't doing the trick, try ctcss (CT) code 1 on the mxt400. My gtx1050's and mxt115 follow the same numbering scheme, but there's 2 types of codes the radios can do, and they both need to be using the same one to hear each other. @offroaderx 's suggestion is a good one as well.
